Digitization

The pandemic has restructured operations in a manner that has made the incorporation of different technologies a necessity in order to survive on the current market. As a result, adoption at scale has become mandatory. Of particular significance are two immediate concerns. Within an environment that is overridingly paper-based within the logistics world, the adoption of blockchain as a possible mechanism to automate freight documentation within the new world is something that we are watching closely. In addition, to facilitate a more resilient supply chain, increasingly supply chain visibility and its accompanying technologies are relevant to the cost-effective and efficient performance of the company.

Logivators

Launched in 2021, Egytrans’ new Transport and Logistics Incubator is an intensive 6-month program designed for early and growth-stage Transport and Logistics startups to build their business. Throughout the program, the selected startups will be provided with mentorship and best practices from Business, Operations, Product and Technology perspectives. The program aims to provide tools, framework, knowledge and an ecosystem to help startups create value-driven products by supporting them in building and promoting market-ready solutions. Investing into and partnering with digital start-ups will not, by itself, transform the legacy business of a transport and logistics company, but it can provide access to capabilities and talent to create new digital business pathways. The start-up approach of disrupting existing supply chains and upgrading the efficiency and transparency of transport businesses through the application of new tools and technologies complements incumbents’ established capabilities.
